The author chose this book mainly because it relates to the main character of the story. The main character whose name is Regina recognizes that her “first love” is God whom she had left. As she goes through life she struggles to see that she can’t do nothing without him. She finds herself drifting further and further away from God until it seems that she has completely separated herself from his will and presence. Through her personal journey for true happiness in looking for love, Regina overcomes heartbreak and disappointment to realize that she already has everything she needs.

While Vonda was dieing Regina could see it in a vision. I cried on this part because that would be so painful to see your best friend dieing in a vision. Regina hadn’t talked to Vonda in awhile because she was going through so much. When Regina was trying to get her life together Vonda passed.
