Brian Littrell -Backstreet Boys
On February 20th, 1975 Harold and Jackie Littrell had a beautiful baby boy, Brian Littrell. Brian, sometimes known by various nicknames like Frick and B Rok, was the most reserved of the Backstreet Boys. And believe it or not, this Lexington, Kentucky native never had a singing lesson. When it comes to music, he's a natural. Brian was singing since he could walk. The younger of two boys in a musical family, Brian grew up singing in the Baptist church they attended. He sang his first solo for the congregation in his church at the age of six. He brought the house down! His favorite musical influences include Bobby Brown, Boys II Men, and Babyface. Brian is the one out of the five who had the largest personal struggle to overcome. He was born with a heart mummer that was not discovered until he fell playing one day at the age of five. His mother worried that maybe he had a concussion, so she rushed him to the hospital. There they discovered a staph infection that had entered his body through a scrape on his knee from two weeks earlier. He was admitted into the hospital for a two month stay that night. It is thought by most that God was behind Brian the whole way. Before he recovered, Brian’s mother was told by the d
"As a group, we have decided not to record our next album at this time. We are not breaking up, but individually we are currently at different places in our lives, and our hearts and minds are focused in other areas. All of us are getting along great and are supporting each other in our individual endeavors."( bsbblvd) Despite the age difference between Brian and fellow Backstreet Boy, Nick Carter, they became the best of friends soon after meeting each other. Back when Nick was under 21, Brian stayed in with him and played two player video games while A.J., Kevin, and Howie went out to the clubs. Brian and Nick were often known as “Frick” and “Frack” to the rest of the boys in the group. The Backstreet Boys were all just guys who liked to sing at one point in time. AJ and Howie were auditioning for local plays in Orlando, Florida. They kept bumping into Nick and eventually they formed a trio. Lou Pearlman discovered their singing and decided the trio needed to add a couple more voices to make the harmony richer. Lou had a friend who knew Kevin, who was working at Disney World at the time. Then Kevin called his cousin Brian who was in Lexington, Kentucky. Brian was in his U.S. History class when he got the call from Kevin. Without thinking, Brian took a flight to Orlando the next day. Brian auditioned for the group and of course became a Backstreet Boy! This happened in April of 1993. Brian was on his way to attend University of Cincinnati Bible College when he got the news he had made it into the Backstreet Boys. octors to make funeral arrangements. I chose to do my research paper on Brian Littrell because I have been a big fan of him and all of the Backstreet Boys since the summer of my seventh grade year of middle school. My best friend since kindergarten introduced me to them on our annual trip to Rocky Point, Mexico with her family. At first the only song I listened to was “All I Have to Give.” I had only ever heard the songs that were out on the radio prior to that time which was “Quit Playin’ Games With My Heart” and “As Long As You Love Me.” I had hated them before, and now love them both. I know that people all put boy bands into this “gay” or “trendy” category, but I really took a liking for these guys. I went out soon after we returned fro
