While Hinduism and Buddhism come from the same cultural backgrounds, they are extremely different in their beliefs on afterlife, deity, and rituals. Both religions believe in reincarnation, but it is where an individual goes after he or she gets off the endless cycle that differs. These religions also part when it comes to whom they do or do not worship. Every religion comes with rituals and Hinduism and Buddhism are no exception to the rule.Hindu followers have no doubt they go to moksha after they accomplish redemption, but Buddhists believe that the main goal is to achieve nirvana in the afterlife. A Hindu can conquer redemption by living a life of asceticism. After becoming a Sadhu, or holy man, and renouncing all material possessions they are able to be one with Brahma Nerguna. In order for a Buddhist to become one with the universe he or she must follow the Eight Fold Path. The Eight-Fold Path basically states pupils should have the right knowledge, speech, aspirations, behavior, livelihood, efforts, mindfulness, and know self-concentration. I would never consider becoming an advocate nor would I ever consider converting to any of these religions. I am a devout catholic and believe the ways of my religion. Confucius thought that education was very important. He has a section in the Analects dedicated to his own love of learning. Confucius thought that educating people was very important. He educated people not only by teaching them physically but also by teaching through his sayings in the Analects. He educated people on such topics as “Humanity”, “Filial Piety”, “Rites and Music” and perhaps one of the most important teachings of “The Gentleman.” This was a group of sayings by Confucius about how one man should act accordingly as opposed to how an inferior man would act in comparison. Confucius was the founder of Confucianism. His works were taught in the Confucian Analects. His sense of mission was to be “a human among other humans.” He was willing to teach and learn with anyone who came to him, once he even accepted a youth though he said that he was not responsible for what the youth did after he left. He observed that one youth seemed to be more interested in growing up quickly than in improving himself. He expected his students to desire learning and think for themselves. As long as the student was making an effort, regardless of his progress he would help him. He even encouraged them to compete with him in goodness. However, he found that most of them were looking for the rewards of a career. He was glad when students stayed with him rather than accepting the first position offered.
