Shortly after eleven o’clock on April 20th, 1999, at Columbine High School in Littleton, Colorado, two outcast students walked in through the cafeteria door carrying with them shotguns, rifles, and pipe bombs. They went on a rampage killing twelve students, one teacher, and ending the massacre by killing themselves. This is one of the examples how people are out of control with guns and the government needs to make limits in the second Amendment.

The constitution is the basic set of rules for all laws for the whole United States. (Katz 1974) Amendments are “add-ons” to the Constitution and are meant to make it more useable by the people. Amendments can only be made by two thirds of both houses of Congress or by application of 2/3 of the state legislatures. The reason that it took such a large number of people to agree to the changes is that it should not be changed for minor reasons. (Katz 1974)

When the British said that the American colonists did not have the right to keep and bear arms and marched to Concord to gather weapons from the Americans, the Revolutionary War began. (Roleff 1997)
