The Roman Catholic Church, the largest of the Christian Churches, is present in all parts of the world. It can be said that most other Christian denominations broke away from the Roman Catholic Church due to different beliefs. It was Jesus, the messiah, who assigned Peter the responsibility of creating the Christian church. Peter was the first pope. At his death, his work was continued by a continuous succession of popes. The Eucharist is celebrated every week in the Roman Catholic Church, and was instituted at the Last Supper and in which bread and wine are consecrated and consumed in remembrance of Jesus' death.

The Uniting Church has been a significant essence in Australia's contemporary society. The church

First and foremost, the Roman Catholic Church has the ability to conduct masses every day, with the inclusion of the Eucharist. However, in the Uniting church, services are held monthly, whilst prayers and confessions run every day. Due to this, communion is celebrated once every month only. The use of grape juice in the Uniting church is contradictory to the practices of the Roman Catholic Church, as they use fermented wine as its symbol of the blood of Christ. The parishioners of the Uniting church choose not to exercise the use of wine during communion, as they do not wish to promote alcohol and drinking in their church community. Whilst the Roman Catholic Church's position to use wine is more traditional, the use of grape juice in the Uniting church is very practical.

Furthermore, after the offering and practice of bread and wine, the Roman Catholic church desires to house the left overs in a tabernacle close to the altar in the church. However, in the Uniting church, parishioners will simply throw it all out. These two different methods are due to their different beliefs.
