In the Seven Habits of Highly Effective People, I have chosen habit five, “Seek First To Understand, Then To Be Understood”. Basically this habit is one of the most important to understand and is used through communicating with others. If you do not realize your problem or situation yourself first, the how will people completely understand you and what you are speaking about. The key to be effective is for you to be able to communicate something you can comprehend first. It is sort of like troubleshooting a problem, and then when you have an idea where the trouble is you then explain it to the person who is going to fix it.

This habit should be used in your everyday life to make you a more effective speaker and listener. You will need to understand all of the other habits and you will have a better understanding of people. By using habit five you will truly understand the meaning of what a person is saying to you.
