The “Letter from Birmingham Jail” written by Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. is the most outstanding example of argument I have ever read or heard. What is the most shocking about the letter are the conditions Dr. King was under when he wrote the letter. He wrote portions of the letter in the margins of a newspaper and on scraps of paper until his attorney was allowed to supply him with paper. I assume that King did not have the luxury of referring to any books because King was not even allowed paper.
