The new Kansas History and International Relations teacher, Nathan, is new to the school as a teacher but not new to the school as a student. Henry attended Hutch High and graduated in 1995. Henry is excited to be back at Hutch High as a teacher.
“It has been really nice coming back to Hutch High. Everything has been really enjoyable. I felt very welcomed which eased the transition,” Henry said.
Henry, a K-state graduate, taught in Manhattan for a year before coming to Hutch. He decided to make the move to Hutch mainly because his daughter Julie, and fiancee Erika Luna lived here in Hutch.
“The main reason was because my family was here. I missed my daughter in Manhattan and wanted to come back and be with them.” Henry said.
Henry doesn’t find it strange working with his former teachers. Most of his teachers are actually already gone and the few that are left he gets along with very well. But this wasn’t always the case. According to Henry he wasn’t the exemplary student in Hutch.
“He is doing really good. His class is laid back, he can just talk to us about things we care about. He just makes learning fun because he keeps us interested.” Tresize said.
“I was really immature at the beginning, I had matured alot by the time I was a senior. I had some family problems but they were no excuse. It just took me some time to grow up.” Henry said.
