What Harry is All About

There are times when the child within each of us dreams of being in another world, a world where magic truly exists and the Laws of Science do not apply. Imagine that everything surrounding you right now is magical and all these things can never be seen in the real world. What would you do? How would you feel? Just think of the possibilities if you live in a world like this, a world full of magic and mysteries waiting to be discovered. Wouldn’t that be really amazing ?

In this modern times, very few people believe in magic because of the recent advances in science. Many people think that magic can only happen in their dreams. Now, however, millions of people are fascinated by magic through reading and this phenomenon can be shown by Harry Potter’s story. His name is known by millions of people all over the world and his story continues to attract several millions more .

Nowadays, it is rare to find a book which could easily capture the interest of millions of young readers. In today’s age of modern science and computers, most children have already forgotten the wonderful experience of reading. They want everything served to them in an instant. They have lost their patience and forbearance. But because of one book, they have been positively influenced to go back to reading. Even adults have been absorbed in reading the book. This could well be since the lessons that could be learned from the story of Harry Potter are applicable to people of all ages. Right now, because of its wide readership all over the world, Harry Potter’s story, the boy wizard, is said to be “one of the beloved figures in literary history” (Cagle 60).

The value of sharing with others was also emphasized with such gesture of Harry.

The story of the book is mainly about Harry Potter and how his magical story unfolds. The story begins when a baby boy, named Harry Potter, was delivered in front of Dursley’s house late at night by a huge man riding on a flying motorcycle. Harry had a scar on his forehead which he got when Voldermort killed his parents. When Voldermort tried to kill Harry something happed and Voldermort was the one who was affected by the spell causing him to be severely weakened. For eleven years, he stayed with the Dursley’s who treated him miserably. Until one day, he received a letter inviting him to come to Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. This was when Harry’s adventures begun. There he encountered lots of things he never knew he would see, like magic, witches, potions, magical creatures and Quidditch, the most popular sports of wizards and witches. It was also in Hogwarts that he met his two new friends, Ron and Hermione. Eventually, they were the ones who helped him when they tried to stop Professor Quirrell to get hold of the sorcerer’s stone so that Voldemort will be able to recover and have his revenge.
