After watching the movie “Dead Man Walking”, I got a better understanding of the death penalty. Throughout the movie there are very clear reason why some people are for the death penalty and why others may be against it.
I am actually for the death penalty. Someone charged with first degree murder should be put to the death because of their actions. In the movie, Matthew Ponsulate and an accomplice commit a double murder and rape a young woman. The movie shows that if you have money and can provide a good defense for yourself than you can be acquitted of murder, just like Matthew Ponsulate’s accomplice.
