Native American Values

The culture that we live in today lacks many positive attributes that were presented to us by our Native American ancestors. I feel that if we tried harder to incorporate the important Native American morals and ideas, we could live in a more serene and balanced society. The three main ideas from the Native American society that I think were very insightful and would be quite beneficial to our modern-day society are the following: be happy with what you’re given, be responsible to your people, and be aware of the balances in life.

In living by and believing in these values, our culture will flourish and the value of life itself will improve. We can become a more productive and serene society if we just are happy with what we have and look out for one another. If we accomplished this, we would be one step closer to the ideal balance of the Native American societies that are constantly presented to us in their great works of literature.
