My Basement

Home is sweet Home, a famous saying from the past. There is no place like home and home is not a home without inhabitants. When I was told to write about a place, which has special meaning to me, the very first thing came across my mind was my house. To be more specific with the location is the basement. The interior of my basement is simple. Just like myself, and is special to me and in several ways. This particular room symbolizes many of the aspects of my personality and things I do. It basically consists the stereo system, CD player, television, bed, and pictures of my family members and my working out equipment. But in this simplicity, is where I belong. .
My family consists of my parents and four children, my three siblings and me. My eldest brother goes to University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and so is never around. This leaves me with my two sisters to whom I can't really relate. Having different perspectives and viewpoints on issues creates a distance between my family members and me. Simply I would say that I am different and don't really belong. I am more open-minded and am curious on experimenting with new things, however, the others don't feel the same way. I tend to feel left out and this is why I spend most of my time in the basement, away from everyone else. I keep myself isolated because I believe the less contact made, the less conflicts will occur. The basement provides me with my personal space and gives me time to myself. .
Besides my passion for Pakistan and my religion, music is another element I am truly fond of. Not only does it entertain me but rather it depicts a lot of feelings and emotions that sometimes words can not. People mistake me to be an extrovert type of person just by judging me from my words and actions. However, I am an introvert because I don't usually reveal what is inside of me. Through music I can let out all the mixed feelings that are bottled up.
