The virus is the Human Immunodeficiency Virus or HIV-I and causes an infection of the white blood cells, mainly the T-cells, which damages the immune system of the infected person. HIV infected patients may present with manifestations that range from mild abnormalities in immune response with out apparent signs and symptoms to profound immunosuppression associated with a variety of life-threatening conditions (Wilkins 29). In order to accomplish this, the virus must find the host cell (T-cell) and once accepted inside the cell makes a copy of itself. This new DNA structure (retrovirus) is then mass-produced, and now virus cells are created and may infect any other
