Acquired Immune Deficiency Syndrome, better known as AIDS, is a virus that was first reported in the United States in the beginning of the 1980's. The virus is the Human Immunodeficiency Virus or HIV-I and causes an infection of the white blood cells, mainly the T-cells, which damages the immune system of the infected person.
