The reason why the labour Government was against the war is because they ?had no fear of communism or it being a threat to Australia. ?

They thought that young men being forced to go to war was cruel, it ?disturbed their lives. They also thought that the enormous amount of money ?used on the war should be spent on helping Australians and that it was an ?overseas war ? has nothing to do with us.?
