The Salvation Army arose from a dream of a young minister trying to find a way to help the urban poor. William Booth, an ordained minister, one day began preaching God’s word to the crowds of people in the street. They also help the physically handicapped by having 30 purpose-built house providing for 1600 handicapped people. They help the deaf, with their 14 leagues in operation. Over 250 canteens are mobile to the needs of military personnel. The Salvation Army have traced over 10,000 missing relatives during the past year.
