Many people believe that when a person is over the age of 70, they should have their licenses taken away. I also believe that because I was in a car accident with a person over the age of 70. Drivers that are over 70 years old should not be able to drive because they could be dangerous.
The day of the accident I was driving on highway 27 in Spring Lake. I was on my way to get my car fixed from a previous accident that happened about a month before. An older man was sitting at a stop sign to the right of me waiting to go. I guess the older man thought that he could make it to the other lane, because he gunned it across the lanes. As I saw him coming, I tried to avoid his car but it was too late and we smacked into each other.
After we smacked into each other, our cars started to spin around because from how fast I was going and where our cars hit. Both of our cars stopped spinning
About ten minutes after the accident, the ambulance showed up to take me to the hospital. As the paramedics got me out of my car, I looked over at the older man. He was just sitting there, not hurt, and just looking at me with a hollow look. I found out by the people at the gas station that the older man was 91 years old and that this car accident was his very first accident ever.
The ambulance took me to the ER at Cape Fear Valley Hospital. When the doctors had finished looking me over, they told me that two discs in the lower part of my back were broken. They said that the feeling in my legs would return in a few weeks. They sent me to go to physical therapy in order to help me when the feeling came back. I went to physical therapy for two months and got the feeling back in my legs about one year after the accent. It was the hardest year in my life. I was not able to do anythin
