College scholarship athletes are held to a stringent code of NCAA rules that budget their time and hinder their ability to acquire and keep a paying job. There are many arguments and positions on the subject of student-athletes being paid to play, but only one solution to the issues surrounding this debate. Scholarship student athletes should be paid for their efforts and accomplishments on behalf of their respective schools. Some form of pay system would allow them the opportunity to lead a more normal college life by affording them the same opportunities other students have to earn while they learn, compensating them for the billions that are earned off of them annually, and may very well keep them in school longer so they can complete their educations because most athletic careers are not lifelong, and education is the the most important aspect in the end.
