It has long been an issue of debate of different scientists, and

almost everyone had its own point of view according to the word

“intelligence”. The research made by American journalists in 1985 can

serve as a vivid example of this. A group of journalists made a

request to twenty-five different independent researchers united one

common idea – the study of functions of brain and its supreme

activity- intelligence, to give a definition to the word

“intelligence”. The results are turned out to be as were expected. The

journalists got twenty-five completely different definitions

describing the word “intelligence”. It has been claimed that the study

of intelligence (mental processes occurring in the brain) is too

complex and mysterious to yield clear results of defining a person

In my essay I will try to answer the questions mentioned above,

give my own clear interpretations of some quotations about

intelligence and intellectuals cited by famous people and to explain

the very essence of intelligence, as I underst

exist everywhere. It is crucial that outcomes are viewed as only one
