Scarlet Letter Music Asociation The first character I chose was Roger Chillingworth. The song I chose that I felt fit his personality and mood throughout the book was a song by 311 titled All Mixed Up. I think this fits him very well because it seems as though he is confused and doesn’t know 100% of what is going on with Hester and this other man. In a way, Dimmesdale is a very inscrutable character. It seems as though he feels that Hester is acting very contumaciously, when he doesn’t know for sure. The song is talking about trusting yourself and not letting what is going on gets to you.
