Aerosmith
They may be old, but they still know how to rock! Call them what you like, icons, idols, legends; we all know who they are. Aerosmith is one of the greatest American rock groups of all time. So how was such a legend ever brought to life? Well, to start off, the band began when Steven Tyler met Joe Perry. Joe was currently working in an ice cream parlor in his hometown of Sunapee, New Hampshire (“Aerosmith”, N/A). Soon afterwards, they gathered up the rest of the band, Tom Hamilton, Brad Whitford, and Joey Kramer (“Band-Aerosmith Bio”, N/A). They played their first gig together at Nipmuc Regional High School (“Aerosmith”, N/A), which turned out well for beginners. Now, it came to the point that they needed a name, and they soon came up with Aerosmith, after turning down such names as Hookers (“Aerosmith”, N/A). They took a big chance in 1973, and released their self-titled debut album. After going no where, they tried again in 1974 with their album ‘Get Your Wings’ (“Band-Aerosmith Bio”, N/A); and soon again on April 3, 1975, with ‘Toys in the Attic’ (Zarkowski, 18). Finally on February 10, 1976, all of their hard work paid off when the single “Dream On”, became a top ten hit, reac
All of the success that was coming to the band was unreal to them now. Reality came back to check in 1996 though, when Joey Kramer’s father died and he had to take time away from the band(“Band-Aerosmith, Bio”, N/A). The next year the band released another album, ‘Nine Lives’, which took three years of work (“Band-Aerosmith Bio”, N/A). The following year during the ‘Nine Lives’ tour, bad luck came to the band when Steven Tyler injured his knee at a concert in Anchorage (“Band-Aerosmith Bio”, N/A). Oddly enough, it wasn’t even from his crazy flips and stunts he is known for pulling while onstage. One week after the band got back on the road again, Joey Kramer was in a car accident and his car burst into flames, burning his arms (“Band-Aerosmith Bio”, N/A). That same year in September, the band made their first U.S. number one with “I Don’t Want to Miss a Thing”, taken from the soundtrack of the movie “Armageddon” (“Aerosmith”, N/A). The song held the top spot for a full month (“Aerosmith”, N/A). Also that year, the band won the “Best Video From a Film” MTV award for the video to the song (“Band-Aerosmith Bio”, N/A). Now, topping their recent success would be difficult, so the band waited until 2001 to release their most recent album ‘Just Push Play’ (“Band-Aerosmith Bio”, N/A). This wasn’t the only excitement in 2001 though, because in January the band performed with N*Sync at the Super Bowl Halftime Show (“Band-Aerosmith Bio”, N/A). Since then, the band has continued to rock the world with concerts, but no new albums ha
