The Life of Jesus
I started to learn to read in pre-kindergarten 4 while attending San Vicente School. I remember the words of the day and the tiny storybooks we would read. The first book I remember reading by myself is Goldilocks and the three bears. My mom would always read me the Little Mermaid. In addition to The Little Mermaid being my favorite book, it was also my favorite movie. I don’t remember if I read to anyone, I probably read to my mom. I don’t know how I felt about reading in kindergarten. I also enjoyed reading in elementary school. I didn’t like reading on my own because I was always self-conscious about reading aloud all throughout elementary. My friends and I would always try to get out of reading assignments. In middle school I was more open to reading aloud. I started to enjoy reading aloud in class and I volunteered to read frequently. Whenever I was assigned a reading assignment, it depended if I
In third and fourth grades, my teachers arranged for us to have a book of the quarter and everyday after lunch a few pages of the book was read to us. After the book was finished we would have to write a book review. Because of the book of the quarter program I became interested in bigger books. I would rent thick books from the library. I enjoyed reading them and the feeling of achievement after finishing a book. Today, I really enjoy reading. I like books I can relate to. Books that have teen issues and I also like sad stories. I can read anywhere, in school hallways, in my room, in the car, at the movies, and even in the shower. My current reading habits are inconsistent. The last book I read was this summer, about a teenage girl who got herself into a bad situation. Since that book I haven’t read much, but because the school year has just started I plan to get back into reading more to enhance my voc
