Martin Luther and the Jesuits

Towards the beginning of the Rennaissance, a new idea swept the idea of Christianity as a whole called Protestantism. This new idea, formed by Martin Luther seperated its followers from the Catholic Church, which at the time was the only option for Christianity. After reading Martin Luther's reasons for disbanding from Catholicism, Christians were forced to take sides. The Jesuits strongly support and enforce the Roman pontiffs as Christ's Vicar, whereas Martin Luther speaks no support or denial of in his passage. "...Steadfastly profess that all the faithful of Christ are subject to the Roman pontiff as their head and as the vicar of Jesus Christ.." ("World Civilizations" - P.33) explains that under the constitution of the Jesuits, one must support the Pope and all members of the Church to support Christ, for as he says they are "the vic
