Salemwitch Trials

It was during our time of atonement that it came across me to write to you. I am a niece of Mary Easty, who was among those that were hanged at Gallows's Hill, under the impression that they were witches. God is seeking to punish us for our sins, sending Satan into our humble town of Salem to wreak havoc and chaos around us. Except Satan is amongst us all, living in our own hearts, making us commit sin. Myself, and many others around me have come to the belief that we have sinned greatly, killing so many innocent lives, and I, sitting right at the front accusing them.
When Betty Parris, daughter of Reverend Samuel Parris, lay in bed breaking into fits of convulsions and hallucinations, I believed there were people selling their souls to the Devil, and signing their contracts. Yes indeed, I was among those that accused Goody Bishop, Goody Good, and Goody Osbourn, believing that Goody Bishop did indeed partake in voodoo magic, sticking pins into dolls and cursing their human bodies. I know that I have indeed wrongly accused her as a witch, of her sending her spirit out to slaughter our chickens, for these witch trials ascended into ridiculous accusations, especially with my aunts dear sister, Goody Nurse, and not in any way related to purging the town of God's wrath.
This is all a lot of tomfoolery; the afflicted girls simply search for someone to accuse, and then fall and scream in court when they are brought to trail, and use the excuse of spectral evidence that the people who stands accused has risen out of their bodies to torture them in their sleep. Looking in the crowds and choosing the next victim, they have even caused a child to be imprisoned, little Dortha Good, who still remains trapped in chains. They are dissatisfied when the judge pleads the victim innocent, and will strive to persuade the judges to plead otherwise. If Tituba had not spoken a falsehood, perhaps the entire witch-hunt would never have happened.
