The actual image on the cake was taken on Tatiana’s actual birthday. When I slipped up and told Tatiana of our plans of having a party for her, I covered it up by telling her we couldn’t have the party and instead we were going to have just a little get together. On the day of her birthday about 20 of us got together at her house. We hung out, played video games, listened to music and acted silly. Basically we just bummed around. Everyone kept hinting at her about the surprise party but she never caught on. It was fun because we are having this get together just to mislead her that we are not going to have a party for her. We even bought a cake for the get together since it was the day of her birthday! On the night of the party her family arranged for her Aunt Maria to take her out for dinner in the city. Tatiana loves it when she gets the chance to get out of the house and go to the city, so the idea of her Aunt Maria taking her there was a very brilliant one. They ate a restaurant in the village and we were kept up-to-date on what they were doing. This was perfect, it kept her far enough so we could finish last minute preparations. We were also waiting for everyone to arrive for the party. When she was close to the neighborhood, we got ready for the “surprise”. We closed the lights and blinds and gathered around the front door. As she stepped through the front door everyone yelled in unison “SURPRISE!” By the look on her face everyone could tell she was truly surprised!
