Of Mice and Men; “Dreams” by Langston Hughes

In the poem “Dreams” by Langston Hughes and in the novel Of Mice and Men by John Steinbeck, the importance of dreams is emphasized. The need for people to have dreams and to keep them alive is also stressed in both works.

O.K Someday- we’re gonna get the jack together and we’re gonna have a little

Steinbeck illustrates the reality of dreams through all of the characters. Both authors show how in order to achieve a dream the dreamer must work hard to overcome obstacles they might encounter. If an individual’s dream is lost, they often become depressed and lonely. Both works present the theme of the significance of goals in one’s life.

ill prevent you from success. What you think about is life after you have achieved your dream, and that’s what motivates people, the guarantee of a better life once that dream is no longer a dream
