Hedda
Hedda Gabbler was written by Henrik Isben. In this play Hedda Gabler is the main character she does not look at things from a two point perspective; in addition, she only views things from a one point perspective. She only thinks about how society will view her. She does not think in terms of right or wrong. She has put aside her happiness she only wants to make sociey and the people around her happy. In Act I the play starts off by telling us that Hedda Gabler, is the deceased General Gabler’s daughter, above the sofa hangs a potrait of a handsome old man in a uniform, this is Hedda’s father General Gabler. Hedda Gabler and her husband George has just returned from a five to six month long journey to Europe where they spent their Honeymoon. When they return home after their Honeymoon, Miss Tesman, (George’s aunt), begins to ask George questions about Hedda, ‘’George haven’t you any-any extra little piece of news to give me?’’ Mrs. Tesman asks George replies, ‘’No’’. She asks, “ Aren’t you expecting?’’ George replies, ’’ Expecting what?’’ Neither Hedda nor George want to admit the truth that Hedda is actually pregnant. But needless to say Hedda nor George w
ill admit the fact that they are married. Hedda just wants to be classisified as the General’s daughter nothing more and nothing less. Hedda is always caught up in what society thinks of her but she did not care what society thought of her when she married a man that she really did not love then and does not love now that she’s actually married to him. begin to tussel, Madame Danielle takes the gun away from Eilert that Hedda had given him and shot him in his stomach.
