It has an legislative, an executive branch and a judicial branch. Michigan has its own constitution. Michigans present constitution was written in the early 1960’s. It has been amended many times. The constitution mainly talks about what Michigan is forbidden to do. It also talks about what rights people have, and if someone is accused of a crime in Michigan it says what rights they have. Laws in Michigan are made in Lansing. The legislative branch is made up of a Senate and a House of Representative. Both parties are elected by the people.
