Some of the events that have taken place are the colonization of Hawaii, India, and China and these have all made one dramatic collision in history. It all began when the United States started taking a stronger interest in foreign islands and the benefits and wealth that they possessed. After the struggle for Independence, the United States had some resentment toward the idea of colonization. Even though it was a touchy idea, a group of Americans supported the idea Imperialism. The British came to India to trade but soon found themselves exploiting the inherent divisions in the Indian society (caste, creed, religion) to establish a deep rooted colonial establishment. In 1857, the Hindus and Muslims forged a rare unity under the leadership of the Bahadur Shah and fought against the British. Soldiers deserted army and there was large scale violence before the English crushed the resistance. India's First War of Independence, labeled Sepoy Riots by the British was an attempt to unite India against the invading British and to restore power to the Mogul emperor Bahadur Shah. The resistance disintegrated primarily due to lack of leadership and unity on the part of Indians, as also to cruel suppression by the British Army. It was a remarkable event in Indian history and marked the end of the Mogul empire and sealed India's fate as a British colony for the next 100 years. The main movements were Non-cooperation movement in 1920, The Civil Disobedience movement in 1922, The Salt March in 1930 and the Quit India Movement in 1942.
