In conclusion, the American Revolution affected various countries around the world in many different ways. The southern colonies were badly damaged after the war, as the new America’s verged on anarchy and complete chaos without British rule. The destruction of many important crops and plantations ruined the fianancial state of such colonies as Georgia and North Carolina, sending them into financial recession and post-war depression. The British Empire realized after the revolution that their weapons and military devices were outdated and persisted to improve their status as a world power. Also with the loss of America, Britain gained India as a main trading partner which greatly benefited them in many ways. India stregthened Britain’s class system and more impotantly made middle-class radicalism unpatriotic. The revolution also affected Holland, inspiring the Netherlands to stage a revoltuion of their own. They mirrored American tactics and called themselves “patriots”, but were unsuccessful in their pursuit of liberty and indepence from British rule. The American Revolution left lasting affects on the politics, government, and cultures of many different societies in which we are still feeling the effects today.
