d to receive grades that seemed average in her time, which was reasonable compared to the average student. I understand that this was not true with all kids at my parents time but it was an example of how grades were not as important to the. But nowadays anything less than Honor Roll seems as if the student didn’t try or was slacking off. Honors and AP classes seem as if they must be taken or else you are thought to be not as achieving as the other students and these above average expectations push us to succeed in areas we normally wouldn’t. This isn’t a problem in the fact we have smarter students, but it does give students a lot more responsibility with their school work and how to fit their schedule together with extracurricular activities and sports.
