Firstly, the primary trait of Victor that causes the destruction is his big ambition. Victor seeks glory through doing the impossible. His ambition takes him too far and he dares to take the place of God by giving birth to his own creation. He betrays the law of nature and throws everything into disorder. The cursed misery begins with his sinful ambition, which deserves the punishment as a matter of course.

Victor has an ambition to possess and it overleaps itself when he says that he wants his creation to worship him as a father, a master, or God. Victor starts to create a life not only because he wants a challenge, but he wants possession as well, in other words, he simply attempts to make up a belon

Thirdly, along with his selfishness, Victor tends not to take responsibilities that lie with him, which contributes to the chaos since there¡¯s no one to be in charge. For example, he shirks his responsibility for his pursuit of natural philosophy and instead of himself, he blames his father for not explaining why he thinks it is trash and doesn¡¯t want his son to study it. He cannot accept being wrong and as he keeps passing the blame unto others he causes conflict and misery.

Once Victor promises the monster that he will make him a bride, he is responsible for fulfilling his promise no matter what. However, once again, he doesn¡¯t fulfill his obligation. He breaks his word, which makes the monster furious and take revenge by killing the people that Victor loves. The misfortunes have come to Victor because he hasn¡¯t seen the need to take responsibility.

On the whole, Victor has caused all the problems and brought misery to himself. He is obsessed with the boundless ambition for success at any cost and it makes him so selfish that he wouldn¡¯t give any careful consideration to others.
