The following is a letter in regards to my opinion on the recent decision involving same sex marriage. I am a student and I have been concerned about the same-sex marriage issue. .
Now that you have released the latest definition of marriage, which includes same-sex couples, I feel that this may create some sort of possible alteration towards future generations to come. For many years now marriage has been the configuration and reproduction of society. Now that you've changed the definition, allowing same-sex marriage to be a part of it, I truly feel that you will only deteriorate our future generation. Consequently, allowing homosexuality to be a part of the ultimate definition I feel that you are encouraging it, which may cause harm to the reproduction of our future society. I have no discriminatory feelings against homosexuality, and believe that all humans have a right to their foremost feelings for one another; however I do feel that legalizing it will only promote it and this may damage the formation of our future generation in many ways. .
Allowing this type of marriage will definitely have an impact on youth as well as teens in the future. Also, it changes the direction of the family circle and cuts down further movement within that family. That particular family name will no longer be carried on through further generations. Not only will our Canadian society be affected but the United States will also. According to the Bay Windows Online Newspaper, "Americans can in fact travel to Canada and get married", so we are now effecting the population growth for nations around us. Further more religion is a major factor in a situation such as this. Marriage is a key issue when it comes to religion. Premarital sex is forbidden within the catholic religion and therefore having a child is required after marriage. Naturally, this would be impossible for a same-sex couple to do.
