Tyler had bigger ideas for the Fight Club then Jack. Tyler wants the men to follow his lead and destroy different corporate buildings, specifically credit card companies in order for everyone to “start form scratch.” Jack is shocked and worried about Tyler’s anarchist ideas of destruction and unaware of many of Tyler’s Fight Club plans. In the end, Jack finds himself tied up in a chair overlooking the credit card companies that the Fight Club is about to destroy, while Tyler holdins a gun towards Jack’s head. This is when Jack comes to the realization that Tyler is just a figment of his own imagination. Tyler is everything Jack ever wanted to be rolled up in one person. As Jack argues with Tyler about his true existence he realizes that if he kills himself he also kills Tyler. Jack then put the gun in his mouth and pulls the trigger. Jack ends up shooting himself in the cheek and killing his perception of Tyler. As Jack stands looking out the huge glass window with blood flowing from his face he watches as Tyler’s dream comes true and the credit card skyscrapers pummel in a storm of explosions.

The fights scenes in this movie are graphic, no question. They were filmed like that for good reason. A good example is the seen where Jack is punching Angel Face over and over while blood rushed from what is left of Angel’s muffled face. For anyone who has been in a fight they probably know how powerful you feel when your adrenaline is rushing and you make that perfect punch that connects with your opponents face and knocks them out. The feeling is unbelievable, you feel like you could take on the world. This scene illustrates that feeling and also has a deeper meaning behind the beating. When Jack says, “I felt like destroying something beautiful,”(Fincher) he was referring to Angel’s face because Angel was more attractive and younger then many of the other member of the club. In a society like the Fight Club being attractive and young is not admired, it is instead looked at as a weakness and nievness that Jack tried to exploit in this scene.
