Pro Capital Punishment

DEATH PENALTY: Benefit or Harm to Society?.
The practice of Death Penalty is probably as old as the beginning of this world. For most of our history, it was not as controversial as it is now. Since the sunrise of crimes most governments punished the major criminals by execution, which became a routine part of any society with law. During 1800's, people started to realize the importance of individuals and criticized government practices they considered unjust, like Death Penalty. The debate over whether governments should utilize the death penalty still continues today. In this debate, I incline more towards applying the death penalty because nothing life imprisonment is not just nor does it provides maximum public safety.
Most opponents debate that the death penalty is cruel and unusual punishment because we are taking another person's life. If a person thinks it's not cruel to kill an innocent, then why should we, the society, think like that for him? In the case of capital punishment I agree with the "an eye for an eye" principle. For example, if a person steals money from you and the same thing happens to him later, who does not think it is fair? The death penalty is not so unusual either. It is a known fact that all the nations around the world, even those who do not have it anymore, once had death penalty in their law books throughout most of our history. The death penalty is still common to many countries in the world and hopefully will stay with us until all the crimes are wiped out from this world. I think it is far more unusual to not have a death penalty than to have a death penalty. Some people even say that it is cruel and unusual because it violates the Eighth Amendment. It is evident in the case of "Gregg vs. Georgia" in 1975 that Supreme Court agrees that it does not violate the Amendment (Bureau of Justice Statistics). The Law admits that retribution is appropriate for capital punishment because it is an injustice to tolerate criminal behavior such as murder.
