Gundam
In the first gundam series, Mobile Suit Gumdam, which takes place in the Universal Century (UC) timeline, the Earth has became overcrowded and many have moved into giant space colonies. After living in space for decades the space colonists began to seek government independence from the Earth. In UC 0079 the tension between the space colonists, also known as the Spacenoids, and the Earthlings, also known as the Earthnoids sparked a war, known as the One Year War. The Principality of Zeon at the Side 3 colonies, the main supporters of the independence of the space colonists, using the Zaku II, a military fighting machine, to destory space colonies that supported the Earth Federation, the military force for the Earth. With the Zeon piling out military as well political vitories, the Earth Federation was to develope the RX-78 Gundam. With the development of the Gundam, the Federation and the Zeon were at a stalemate. To break tie, the Zeon decided to drop a space colony on the Federation headquarters in Jaburo, South America. The colony was knocked off course and instead impacted on Australia and destroyed most of the country. After the Zeon dropped the space colony on Earth, the Zeon and Federation were forced to sign the Antarctic T
reaty, which banded the use of nuclear weapons, because of the severe number of civilians killed during the war. The Antartic Treaty forced the Federation and Zeon into a stalemate. During the time the Antartic Treaty was in place, the Federation Forces began its Project V, which was to use data from the RX-78 Gundam to create a mass produced version RX-78 Gundam, called the GM. With the GMs, the Federation was able to force the Zeon from Earth and backinto space. The Federation won the One Year War at Battle of A Baoa Qu on January 1, UC 0080. After the One Year War, the Principality of Zeon disbanded became the Republic of Zeon. In UC 0083, Aiguille Delaz and Anavel Gato started a rebellion to revive the Principality of Zeon. The Zeon exposed the Federation of violating the Antartic Treaty by stealing a nuclear-equip Gundam from the Federation. As a show of force, they drop a colony on North America and make most of it uninhabitable. As a result of the Zeon dropping the colony, the Federation formed the Titan task force to seek all Zeon rebels. However, the Titan task force began attacking colonies for no reason.
