Beauty
Everybody likes beautiful people. It does not matter if it’s the appearance or simply the inner person of an individual. Consider one person as a painting. Usually colorful picture is ranked better then a black and white drawing because people regard it as beautiful. However, that non-color artwork might have the touch that transforms it into an interesting painting - its inner beauty is what makes it feel beautiful. As Frankenstein’s creature was hideous outside it was understood spiritually by the blind man. Dr. Jekyl is a fine looking man and people love him for who they think he is. The way we look at the people and the different things in life, makes all the difference in our decisions. As a big society, we have defined beauty over civilizations and labeled ugliness as its dark side. There’s no definite answer to what is beautiful or how much it’s beautiful. It’s not far too different from light and darkness, good and evil. We make different standards to measure the immeasurable things and to justify the unjustifiable. These aspects mark us, human beings, in life and give each man a price, which does not have to necessarily be fair. For instance, in the story of The Frankenstein, Victor Frankenstein is quite a pleasant and good-looking man with a naïve, irresponsible dark side. He creates the monster for the purpose of enjoyment and passion, and later on he denies his love for his creation. The monster on the other hand has a very frightening appearance which repels the people around him. This quality prevents people from any further contact with the monster. In other words, it’s been believed throughout the history that ugliness is equivalent to bad manner and evil
