Philosophy is a very unique subject in that it doesn’t really have a study of anything; philosophy is more of a way of thinking, where you think about the meaning of things such as life or the purpose of ethics and morals. In other disciplines there is a focus such as biology, the study of living things, or physics, the study of certain laws that govern the universe but philosophy is different, anything can be thought about in a philosophical sense. Of course for it to be interesting it must have lots of different beliefs, must be cohesive and complex, and it must be significant for others to take an interest in it. For example the meaning of life fit’s all of these criteria and people would like to know what it is, it appeals to everyone. Where as not everyone may care how someone thinks of a can of soup in a philosophical way.

One level is the cosmological questions, these are questions involving the entire universe, such as why does the universe exist, and why is there something rather than nothing. When asking these sorts of questions you are concerned with issues of if God really exists or not and if he created the universe; the answers that cosmological questions want to find out are if there is a plan for the entire universe. Another level is the impersonal or omni personal questions, these questions are concerned with the existence of humans and what their purpose is, concerns such as history, the evolution theory, and human behavior are relevant to this level. To answer this level of question one must find the meaning for the existence of humans and their purpose. And the third level is the personal or private level in which one would ask questions about one’s own existence and the meaning of their own life.
