Beauty Myth
Beauty is defined by the qualities in a person or thing that give pleasure to the senses or pleasurably exalt the mind or spirit. The second definition is a beautiful person or thing, especially a beautiful woman. (Webster 1992: 396)The myth in the second sense carries out many problems for human beings, especially woman, since ¡°beauty¡± is the field, or an element that involve mainly around them. In other words, if one is considered beautiful, the beauty works as empowerment, acceptance, respect, humanization, and relaxation. The quotation marks around beauty explain this myth. The notion of beauty is unstable, that is, no one really can define what beauty is. Also it is different because the beauty is in the eye of a culture.
