Pyramids
One of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World is the great pyramid built under Khufu’s reign. There have been many different views on how exactly the pyramids where built. The great mystery on how the pyramids where built has many different theories like that the ‘Chariots of the Gods’ built them or that it was simply the Egyptians building them with their tools. They all talk about how they built the pyramid, where they got the materials and the evidence they have. In the three theories that I looked at, theory number two seems to be the most logical and believable of them all. In all three alternatives, there are different ways how they built the pyramid. Each theory having there own way on how they could have built one of the Seven Wonders of the World. In theory one it talks about that there are too many things that don’t add up. Too many coincidences don’t add up to the building of the Great Pyramid. To carry the stones from one area to another, the house and cart wasn’t invented until 1600BC. The second theory is stating that the Egyptians used wooden rollers, rafts and sleds. They also found that they could have used a liquid to pour along that route to make it easier to pull the stone to the site. “Fre
Since alternative number two seemed that one to be most believable with how they built the pyramid, using mud from the Nile and muscle power and perhaps the use of wooden rollers, where did the get these materials to build the pyramid. The pyramid was mostly made up limestone, and other materials found by the Nile. The first view on how the pyramids were made, explains that the Egyptians used approximately 2 600 000 stones weighing from 2.2 tons each. And if they piled 10 blocks a day on top of each other it would take them 664 years to build the pyramid and this isn’t the case. To get the wood for the wooden rollers they needed to import it from Nile to Cario. Then they need to transport the wood to where the pyramid was being built. This should have been hard since they did not have a horse and cart to help move the wood. In alternative two, the limestone that was used to build the pyramid was found in a quarry located on the Gizeh plateau, south pyramid, and the granite that was used in the Pharaohs burial chamber was ferried by boat from Aswan 700m up the river. This is how they got most of the materials to the site. They used boats to import some of the materials, to the site. In the third theory, it was said that they carried materials to make the artificial limestone. Using hoes, baskets, ladders, squares, plumb lines, levels, trowels, and wooden molds. This theory believed that the Egyptians made their own limestone, so they didn’t have to carry it great distances. It could be made on site. Overall theory number two again seems the most logical. The Egyptians did hav
