Getting Into Trouble

Getting into trouble

I decided to write about what I did when I was younger, and how it still follows me today. The subject of this essay is how

I started to take cars for joy rides and the consequences that followed. I think that me taking the cars was a mix of being bored,

watching way too many action movies, a little peer pressure and the thrill and fear of the possibility of being caught. I cant blame anyone

but myself for my actions, but the saying "if you are to get in trouble do it while you are young" stuck in my head.

I'll start writing about what happened when I was age eight, because I think that was when I first heard adults giving me the

speach, "if you are to get in trouble do it while you are young". At the time I didn't think much about the creadibility of the people telling

me this. I truly doubt these people had ever put this saying to the test in their own life, and now that I think about it,I doubt that any of

these people had any run-ins with the law. I belive most of the time I heard this saying was when family friends were drinking. I let the

thought resonate in my head for close to a year or so.

Close to age 9 I was still a straight A student, an

did. The police started by jerking the driver out, and worked their way to the rest of us. We were patted down, searched, and laid face

all took turns on taking one of our parents cars, and we could go do whatever we wanted. Well one time our luck ran out. It was close

So off we went, we thought our chances were good, because in the movies they were rarely caught in the chase scene. The

age twelve or so I felt that I could drive on my own. I was good enough, well at least as good as any student driver that I knew.
