I’m sure we can relate to and have faced many situations involved in being a teenager right? Well that’s exactly what this movie is about. Whether it be trust, jealousy or rumors we all have been though it. O is a compelling teen drama that relates to the everyday lives of the impulsive emotions of adolescences. O is an modern day remake of William Shakespeare's play Othello. O introduces us to adolescent problems that occur in everyday teenage society such as, love, jealousy, racism, and betrayal. With enduring themes and plot twists I’m sure you’ll be glued.

O is set in a modern day elite private school. Mekhi Pheifer plays the role of Odin James, aka O, who is the only black student enrolled at Palmetto Grove Academy. He is the anticipated NBA superstar, who has been recruited by the school for his spectacular basketball abilities. O, being the only African American in the school, is popular through


The believable performances and plausible reality is what tie you to the movie. Being able to watch a movie that you can relate to, will keep you involved. Knowing that the things we go through and see on a daily basis are being conveyed though a movie. For instance, one scene in the movie shows how athletes are treated differently and given special treatment. This goes on in almost every high school or college that I have been to, therefore making the movie believable and realistic.

This movie holds a plot of enduring social issues. Drama heats up the scene as Hugo begins informing Odin of fake accusations against his girlfriend. He tells O that Desi is also secretly being intimate with Michael, another teammate of whom, who O has grown quite fond. All of us can relate to this, I’m sure we all have been in a situation similar to this. O has no choice but to ignite his emotions and act on what he is being told.
