Forms of Political Process

There are other forms of participating in the Political Process other than voting. There are complete activists, people who are a member of a political organization, campaigners and communalists. Only about 58 percent of the nation have actually voted, that is the most common, but others usually spends time participating in different forms in politics.

According to Sidney Verba and Norman Nie, people who are highly educated, have high incomes, and tend to be middle-aged rather than young or old. These people participate in all forms of politics and account for 11 percent of the population. Political Organization are programs that encourage citizens to participate in the political process by providing opportunities for political involvement, access to public officials or information that is necessary to make informed decisions at the ballot box

Campaigners are people who not only vote but like to get involved in campaign activities as well. They are better educated than the average voter, but what distinguishes them most is their interest in the conflicts of politics,


Communalists are the people who tend to reserve their energies for community activities of a nonpartisan kind. Their education and income are similar to those of campaigners, according to Sidney Verba and Norman Nie. Communalism offers generous prospects for human education and rationality as well as for the practical achievement of historical progress and is a revolutionary political ideology that aims at creating a rational society and ethical norms of production, innovation, and distribution through direct democracy. Communalist demands for popular empowerment are more than rhetoric to fool an already weary public. Communalism is founded on precisely the empowerment of ordinary citizens. Communalists struggle to create genuine communities that allow our distinct human qualities to fully emerge and institutionalize themselves. These municipalities will indeed be more than the mere sum of its citizens; rather they will constitute truly politicized communities that imbue citizens with values, hope and purpose in stark contrast to the daily trivialization of citizens by
