Who am I Voting for in 2004
Using the website www.selectsmart.com/PRESIDENT I took a test to determine which presidential candidates have the same type of views as I do. After taking this test, I’ve researched the top five people to see what I do and do not believe in. These are my results with the curve percent on which I agree. 1. Kucinich, Cong. Dennis, OH - Democrat (100%) 2. Kerry, Senator John, MA - Democrat (87%) 3. Gephardt, Cong. Dick, MO - Democrat (86%) 4. Edwards, Senator John, NC - Democrat (81%) 5. Dean, Gov. Howard, VT - Democrat (80%) My views vary on different things. I do not consider my self a democrat or republican. I do consider myself more liberal than conservative and the test results verify that. I believe we should reduce federal spending on taxes and figure out the top priorities within the country before the country worries about the rest of the world. I also believe that spending and taxing should be equal. Welfare is something that should be available to people who need it. I don’t believe in using welfare because someone is too lazy to get a job or just plainly does not want a job. I think welfare should be used for the people who cannot work due to disability, children or reasons like th
Minorities should have the same rights as everyone else. A person is a person whether they are white, black, brown, yellow, green or polka dotted. Discrimination is a way for insecure people to feel better about themselves. This belief is also the same for civil liberties. at. If a person is able to work, they should to support themselves. They should not rely on the government alone to survive. I believe public schools should get more help from the government. So many schools are so poor it’s almost pathetic. At the same time though, I think the government should watch what the money given out is spent wisely. I still have a lot of research to do before I actually get out to the voting ballots and know for sure who I want to run the country that I live in. Right now, I would vote for the people as they are on my results. To this day, the whole 9-11 issue drives me up the wall. In my opinion, people took the entire thing way too seriously. The way I see it, someone was upset with the country and how it was running. The entire issue on security is shot to pieces. It can happen at any place, any time. If people were so worried about being safe, they would have already had this type of security before the incident occurred. Peo
