Judaism and Christanity

There lie many similarities between the two faiths of Christianity and Judaism. One such parallel is that the Jewish Scriptures is Christianity’s Old Testament. Another would be the belief in that the Scriptures to be unerring, that is without error or fallacy. Finally, the both Christianity and Judaism share the same monotheistic God.

There are several doctrinal points that Christianity and Judaism fail to meet one another. One of the biggest differences is that the Jewish faith does not believe Jesus Christ is their awaited Messiah and Savoir. Nor do they recognize the New Testament as valid scripture. In addition, there are several key points in biblical doctrine that the Judaism fails to agree with, such as original sin.

There are many common points between Christianity and Judaism. One such parallel is that the Jewish Scriptures is Christianity’s Old Testament. The Scriptures of Judaism consists of Books arranged in three groups known as the Law, the Proph

ets, and the Writings. These books were written in Hebrew, except for parts of Daniel, which were composed in Aramaic. These books are the same as the 39 books of Christianity's Old Testament. Their compilation was over a period of one thousand years, from 1400-400 B.C. The Jewish faith does not hold each part of their writings in equal importance. The Law, Torah, is the most authoritative, followed by the Prophets, which have lesser authority, and lastly the Writings.

Christianity and Judaism share the same monotheistic God. God to these faiths called, the Lord of Hosts, Jehovah, and many other names that reflect the holiness of His character. One thing that remains a constant between both faiths is that God is a holy and just God. To both He is the Creator and sustainer of the universe, by His Word, He holds all things into existence.

The New Testament is the second and last part of the Scriptures that contains 27 books, that relate the good news of Jesus Christ, written by men that knew Him directly, taught by the people that he discipled, or that he revealed Himself to later after His resurrection. Because Judaism rejects Jesus Christ as the messiah promised by God, they also do not accept the New Testament as valid Scripture.
