The Renaissance was a new age when people became less concerned with the mysteries of heaven and more interested in the things around them. We can learn many different things from the age of Renaissance. We can learn how the Renaissance began and flourished in the Italian city-states, we can also learn how France was influenced by the Italian Renaissance, last but not lease, how the English monarchy promoted the Renaissance in England.
One thing we can learn from the Renaissance age is learn how the Renaissance began and flourished in the Italian city-states. The Renaissance got started by scholars called humanists. The scholars in the western part of Europe developed an interest in writings of the ancient Greeks and Romans. "The humanists improved their knowledge of Greek and Latin, studied old manuscripts, and tried to copy the authors" manner of writing." Later they began to accept some Greek and Roman ideas. One of those ideas that they accepted was a belief in the importance of people. This is what helped lead to the new age called the Renaissance, which also means "rebirth." The first and starting place of the Renaissance was Italy. The main states were Florence, Venice and Papal. The nobles who were in control wanted the people under them to think of them as wise, generous rulers. The people spent money on all kinds of festivities and money to build churches and palaces. They also had schools where sons of the rich could go to learn to develop their minds. They studied the classical writings and they also learned good manners. They also wrestling, fencing and swimming.
The second thing we can learn from the Renaissance is how France was influenced by the Italian Renaissance. In 1494 the France began to attack Italy. French kings soon became fascinated in the Italian art and fashions. One king arranged for some Italian artists to work for him in France. The king also encouraged some French authors to model their work after Italian authors.
