Anita Hill became very popular in the early nineties because of her role during the Clarence Thomas hearings. Anita Hill was a black woman born on July 30th, 1956 in Okmulgee County, Oklahoma. Her father, Albert, was a farmer in Okmulgee and her mother, Irma, was also a farmer and a housewife. She completed her undergraduate work at Oklahoma State University and then graduated from Yale’s School of Law. After practicing law for one year in Washington D.C., Clarence Thomas, at this time the Assistant Secretary of Education, offered her a job as his assistant and she accepted.
