Conservatives, Christians and the Sarah Palin Leadership Debate

There are many conservatives in this country, and a good portion of them are Christians in some form or another. Even though they might not all share the same exact religion, such as Catholicism or even baptist, they do have one thing in common. They believe in God.

These Christian conservatives have one candidate to vote for at the moment, and that is John McCain. He is not a bad candidate for them. He is a war veteran and a true lover of his country. However, he does waiver a little on some of the issues, and how conservatives view they should be dealt with. For instance, although he believes abortion is something that should not be done, he also believes that there are circumstances in which it is acceptable. If the mother\'s life is endanger, rape, etc. are things that he believes are reasons that would be acceptable to abort a child.

At any rate he is the conservative running in this particular race, and for conservatives, there are little other choices. I\'m sure they don\'t want to vote for Obama.


Now if something were to happen to McCain, that is when she would become a leader of the country. And that is when those with this view point would have a real issue. I personally feel that a woman could probably do just as well as a man. In fact I would say that I don\'t see how they could do much worse.

And that I suppose is where some Christians have disagreement. Some have such a strong feeling about a woman in any role of leadership, that they would see the entire party lose to the opposition rather than vote for the support of a female.

I see their point to an extent. I too am a Christian, and in our church women are not preachers nor do they serve communion or teach in adult classes. It is our belief that the men are to fill this role in teaching the bible. We also believe that the man is the head of the household and his word is finale. However, this is the extent to which we take it, and it does not mean that the woman in a house does not discuss things with her husband or help in making decisions. And it d
