We are All Prisoners of Civilization

The governments are trying to build a prison. Though this prison is not a prison of stone and iron. In fact it already exists, binding us, the people, in chains. This is a prison of law and order which societies put up around us to sustain their power. Any form of ordered government does this by taking the power away from the people. However such vast power ultimately corrupts the governments. These corrupt governments no longer function in the sense that they no longer care about the people. Instead they become like drug addicts, caring about nothing, save the power which they now wield. To maintain such power they make laws which are no longer made to protect the people whom they rule over, but rather to maintain their power. People who have followed the laws while the ruling party was still manufacturing laws to keep the people safe and ensure that they will have rights and so forth will have become so dependent on the government by this time that they will no longer question the laws created by that government. They have become prisoners of order.

Throughout history governments, the representatives of order in civilization, have become corrupt and ceased to serve the people. Because of this they all fell. This d

Regardless of the source or purpose of such laws they exists and most people follow them. Those who do not face consequences such as fines, being incarcerated, and sometimes even death. However those who do follow these laws also must pay a price. By following laws people eventually develop a habit of not thinking about the laws the follow. Through the habitual following of these laws people quickly loose the ability to think about the laws they follow and will do whatever the government tells them to do. Such has always been the situation created by any army. From the times of Alexander the Great when if an army were to loose it's head (usually the general) the rest of the army would fall. Despite the fact that this hierarchy is created in order for the army to work as a single entity, it does pose many constrictions upon the entity in which functions. When a limb of the entity (the army) is told to do something by the head it is done. However what if the head is no smarter than the limb? A general is not necessarily smarter than a private, so what makes the general's judgment so much better? Also, when any dependency is created, the dependent cannot function without whatever it is that he is dependent upon. If no one give orders to a soldier he will not know what to do. In a battle if for whatever reason a soldier is separated from his commanding officer then that soldier will not be told what to do and becomes useless. A useless soldier might as well be a dead soldier. Today the results of such dependence on orders is very much evident when tribal cultures try and make a democracy. The simply cannot. They are unable to make decisions for themselves because they are so used to the idea that an elder will make these decisions for them. As a result you see so called democracies incorporating the Tribal Elder into the government. Basically the senate is there just for show, because even the minute responsibility of voting is too much for such people. They are the prisoners mentioned in the beginning of this essay.

ates back to the days of the Roman Republic when the senate ruled over the people. The senate who were chosen from the people, by the people, to serve the people wound up tainted by greed and lust for power. When a young, power hungry Julius Caesar stole power of government from the senate and created an empire, he was betrayed and murdered. This did not stop the empire however, and other emperors took the role of Caesar. These men were no better tha
