Conflict Resolution with My Husband

            Conflict occurs between people in all kinds of relationships whether it be between mother and child or between spouses. Conflict by itself is neither good nor bad. Anyhow, the manner in which conflict is handled determines whether it is effective or ineffective. Conflict has the potential for either a great deal of devastation or much creativity and positive social change. .
             .
             There is one conflict that I have been having with my husband just about every other month and it has been ticking me off. I am a full tine college student and a stay at home mother of two children. My husband is the provider and when he gets paid, I'm the one who deposits his check and handles the finances. We have separate checking accounts, but we both have access to each other's accounts at all times. So when it's time to pay the bills, I use his account. We have a calendar hanging in our room with all of the due dates displayed and the amount of each bill written on the day it's due. .
             When the bill is due, I pay it with or without notifying him since it is written on the calendar. Even though we have this calendar, he will gripe at me for not telling him what bills I have paid. When he notices that there is three hundred or more dollars missing from his account, he will have a fit about it. I tell him that he knows which bills need to be paid and which day they need to be paid because it's written on our calendar every month. He tells me that he doesn't really pay attention to the calendar. I tell him that it's not my fault that he doesn't pay attention to the calendar. His thing is that he wants me to verbally tell him what bills I have paid for that week. I don't feel like I need to verbally tell him when it's clearly written on the calendar we have hanging on the wall in our room. .

             The result of this issue is us bickering back and forth for about an hour. We have a hard time resolving this issue because he thinks he's right and I think I'm right.
