The Concept of Naming

One's name is what a person is distinguished by from the day of birth until the day of imminent death. The Oxford Dictionary defines it as a word or a combination of words constituting the individual designation by which a person, animal, place or thing is known, spoken of, etc. It is a word or words that identify them. Keeping this in mind, much consideration goes into selecting a name as it is the single most important factor that will set one apart from any other person in its entirety. There are several methods in choosing names: be it a culturally popular name, or one that carries much religious significances, to shaping personalities to just basing a name of the meaning itself.

Distinctive traits, abilities characteristics, and behaviors contribute to compose a person’s personality. A person’s character is essential in determining their identity. Many factors contribute to shaping our identities. Among them is this concept of naming. The name Saad comes from the Urdu and Hindi word “saadgi,” which means “pure.” The name “Rida” in Arabic means “God’s favorite.” The name Adela in English means “noble”. Many people consider the

Ultimately, a person with a name that is mundane will be acknowledged as a trendsetter, or individualistic character. As a result, this forms the persona of a unique individual.
